Why We Break Boundaries (Q&A)

Las Palmas Waterfall - Panama

I was born in the Netherlands, and growing up in Brazil, Panama and the United States, moving around has been a very natural thing for me.

Why a Tesla?

Simple! Tesla’s overall design and being the safest vehicles to drive (probably not driving tbh) and with camp mode baked into the software just made sense to live out of one. Where some might see ‘restrictions’, I truly see unlimited potential. We are driving south to from Tuktoyaktuk in Canada to Ushuaia Argentina. I nicknamed this roadtrip, the ‘Watts of Freedom Expedition’.

The future is electric, and the future is here now.

I have lived on the open road for 3 years now. The first 6 months I lived in a Tesla Model 3 Sedan (aka Tess), which I renovated into a tiny kitchen. Eventually, I wanted more headroom and a bigger kitchen, so bought a used 2023 Tesla Model X with 100 miles on the odometer (aka Beluga). I build a kitchen with slide out drawers with an induction burner, fridge, running water and 250 watts of integrated solar panels on the hood – let’s not forget about the cozy bed!

From playing professional football for 5 years to having a short stint working at Tesla in Portland Oregon, I now embrace a less predictable way of life, opting to use the money I have earned to explore this little blue dot we call home in the more sustainable way. As of now, I plan to roam the world indefinitely as we make our way down to Ushuaia Argentina, maybe Australia next?
I truly believe in the phrase, ‘take less. do more’, and prefer spending my time and energy chasing stunning landscapes and cultural experiences.
